Run 2 - The hips!
Today was my second teeny tiny run. Legs hurt from yesterday. But I discovered something huge. A guy on Reddit posted a checklist for proper running form, and one of the points was to slightly thrust the hips forward. Actually, I knew that hips are crucial. When watching professional runners it’s always mesmerizing to me that their hips stay very stable when they run. I tried to adapt this technique somehow before, but never managed to. And today - I thought of the checklist and just pushed my hips forward somehow. And oh wow, what a difference!!! I was flying. My legs automatically started moving faster under me. What a great feeling. Of course though, because of running faster I was immediately out of breath, but still. This is such a game changer!
Also, I’m very proud that I ran today as well. I realized that writing about it here works as a great motivation. I feel accountable toward the… well, who/what? The general notion of the internet, I guess. I don’t know. My current running abilities are just so very embarrassing, so I’m just motivated to get better and be able to write about it. Make it make sense ;).
